In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, on January 18th, IMPACT is hosting an online viewing and discussion of the documentary “I Am MLK Jr.”
“I Am MLK Jr.” celebrates the life and explores the character of an American icon. The film follows Dr. King’s journey across mountaintops and valleys while capturing the Civil Rights Movement at large. The documentary provides intimate, firsthand insights on Dr. King, exploring moments of personal challenge and elation, and an ongoing movement that is as important today as ever.
The 95-minute documentary will be followed by a facilitated discussion.
About IMPACT’s Film and Discussion series:
This program year, IMPACT’s “Film and Discussion” series is focused on cross-racial solidarity. The purpose of each film is to understand each other’s struggles, histories we haven’t been taught, and how these topics connect to our pursuit of justice and liberation today. This series builds on our June 2020 webinar Building a Multi-Racial Movement: Challenges + Promises. Watch that webinar here:
