Tuesday, February 18, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm, Grace Episcopal Church, (1607 Grace Church Road, Silver Spring) We are gathering the Network to 1) engage and connect; 2) provide an overview and update on the Racial Equity and Social Justice bill/ Bill 27-19; and 3) share the accomplishments and next steps for the Network. The MORE Network is a collaboration of community members, grassroots organizations, non profits, and other stakeholders who are working towards racial equity and its intersections. It is a new collaboration--about 6 months old--that was organized to bring together individuals, groups, and organizations working towards a common goal: racial equity in Montgomery County, MD. This community meeting is open to everyone who has contributed to MORE's success and to anyone interested in learning more about the Network.
The Racial Equity and Social Justice Bill (Bill 27-19) was passed unanimously by the Montgomery County Council! While there's a lot of work ahead of us to ensure full and effective implementation of this new law, it's also important we take a moment to recognize and celebrate what we have accomplished together. Let's celebrate at Not Your Average Joe's (8661 Colesville Road, Suite C-153, Silver Spring MD) on Thursday, December 5 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.

It’s a Tuesday morning at Hughes United Methodist Church (HUMC) where a queue of cars starts in the parking lot and winds around the block and onto Georgia Avenue in Wheaton. This day is like other Tuesdays when hundreds of people on foot and in cars arrive to pick up food for their families. HUMC is part of the county’s services consolidation effort to bring resources and services like food, rental assistance, and Covid testing directly to vulnerable residents in one central location.
