IMPACT Film & Discussion: “Afrofuturism: The Origin Story”

February 27, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

One of the many traditions that pushes our capacity to practice radical imagination is Afrofuturism. According to the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC), Afrofuturism is “an evolving concept expressed through a Black cultural lens that reimagines, reinterprets and reclaims the past and present for a more empowering and inclusive tomorrow.”
With the anticipated opening of the exhibit “Afrofuturism: A History of Black Futures” in March 2023 at the NMAAHC, we are hosting a viewing of “Afrofuturism: The Origin Story” on Monday, February 27th from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. We hope you’ll join us for this free event.
