SUMMARY:Rethinking Thanksgiving
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an online Film & Discussion event to reflect on Indigenous Peoples history in the U.S. in light of this Thanksgiving holiday. The purpose of this space is to explore meaningful ways we can honor Indigenous Peoples\, history\, and tackle myths of Thanksgiving.\n\n\nThanksgiving brings to the occasion a time where loved ones can gather in celebration\, however\, the holiday’s mythical origins silence the violent history that\, in part\, brought the holiday to fruition. During our time together\, we will hold space for our favorite things about Thanksgiving\, the formal holiday’s violent origins\, and how we can honor Indigenous Peoples in consideration of these contrasting dynamics.\nThe event will include a video viewing and large- and small-group discussions.
